Hector F. Lozano, MD FACC
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography & Nuclear Medicine

Dr. Lozano was born and raised in Colombia, South America. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Caldas, School of Medicine. He joined Florida Heart Group in 2008 after completing his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College and his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida.

Dr Lozano received an honorary faculty appointment at New York Medical College for his teaching skills and continued as Chief Medical resident at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City upon completion of his residency training. As a Cardiology fellow, he studied the role of chemicals naturally produced by the blood vessels in alleviating and promoting healing of cardiac injury in ischemic heart disease and has published several papers on the subject in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Lozano is an invasive cardiologist with special interests in preventive care, peripheral vascular disease, pacing and device therapy for heart failure as well as cardiac imaging. He is based primarily in the Altamonte Office, but will help develop the growth of our new Oviedo Office.

Dr Lozano is fluent in English and Spanish. He enjoys spending time with his family, soccer, road biking, and dancing to Latin music.
