Florida Heart Group began in 1979 as a two-man cardiology practice with Dr. Philip Littleford and Dr. R. Charles Curry, Jr. Dr. Kerry M. Schwartz joined Dr. Littleford and Dr. Curry in 1980, and by 1983 had established the first comprehensive cardiac arrhythmia service in Central Florida. Our international group of cardiologists in Orlando blends substantial experience and training with a fiscally responsible approach to invasive and non-invasive cardiology, interventional cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Carol Ma, MD, FACC

Dr. Carol Ma was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up in Satellite Beach, FL. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated from the University of Florida Medical School in Gainesville, FL. She completed her internal medicine training at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland and her cardiology fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical System.

James Miner, MD

Dr. Miner was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He completed his undergraduate and graduate training at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University Medical School in 1973. He completed his Internship and Chief Residency at the University of Florida, Jacksonville and his cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida, Gainesville.

George Monir, MD, FACC

Dr. Monir was born in Alexandria, Egypt. He joined Florida Heart Group and brought a vast amount of expertise from international sources, as he practiced medicine in both Kuwait and Egypt. His education mirrors that international experience.

Carlos Saenz, MD, FACC, FACP

Dr. Saenz was born in Washington D.C. and was raised in Bogota, Colombia (South America) where he graduated from medical school (University of Rosario) in 1978. Subsequently, he trained in Internal Medicine (internship and residency at L.S.U. School of Medicine in New Orleans) and in Cardiology (University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama). After completing his fellowship in cardiology he served in the faculty as assistant professor at U.A.B. and in 1988 joined Florida Heart Group in Orlando.

Hani Seifein, MD, FACC

Dr. Seifein was born in Egypt. He joined the Florida Heart Group in April of 2003. Dr. Seifein attended medical school at Ain Shams University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt where he graduated with honors. Prior to that, he graduated in the top 5th percentile nationwide from College De La Salle.

Pavan Patel, MD

Pavan Patel, MD joined Florida Heart Group in 2016. He is board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular ultrasound. Dr. Patel completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Florida Hospital Orlando followed by a cardiology fellowship at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He has a special interest in coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and valvular heart disease.

John J. Ververis, MD, FACC

Dr. Ververis is a fellowship-trained and board certified cardiologist. He joined Florida Heart Group from St. Thomas Heart group, the interventional cardiovascular program of the Summit Medical Center in Nashville.

Thomas Walsh, MD

Dr. Walsh is a fellowship-trained and board certified cardiologist who joined Florida Heart Group in 2014 from Mayo Clinic Health Systems Waycross, Georgia, where he served as a non-invasive / invasive cardiologist and medical director of the nuclear lab.

Curtis Weaver, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Weaver was born in Haines City, Florida. He received his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Florida in June 1979. He then completed medical school at the University of Florida in June of 1983.
