Bio

John J. Ververis, MD, FACC is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He joined Florida Heart Group from St. Thomas Heart group, the cardiovascular program of the Summit Medical Center in Nashville.  As an invasive cardiologist, he has special interests/skills in diagnostic cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, transesophageal echo, and nuclear cardiology, as well as other advanced diagnostic testing.

Dr. Ververis earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine; completed an internal medicine residency and cardiology research fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Following fellowship training, Dr. Ververis stayed at Emory and served as an assistant professor of medicine within the division of cardiology. As part of the Emory position, he served as an attending staff physician at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center and trained cardiology fellows in diagnostic cardiac catheterization, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Additionally, Dr. Ververis was responsible for the clinical education of interns and residents in the medical school program. He left academia in 1995 and since has been in private cardiology practices in Atlanta and Nashville.
